Cloning: A Cubicle Culture?

The science of cloning is alive and well – in the workplace. If you don’t believe this, look around you. Signs are everywhere: employees subconsciously echoing their bosses’ fashion statements – from computer briefcases to tweed jackets, the secretary clipping her vowels or slurring her consonants the way the top gun does, junior executives taking up the same sport their chief plays.

Cubicle Culture

There are two ways clones are reproduced in a company: managers hire versions of themselves or the staff voluntarily take it upon themselves to copy the boss. It’s logical, really. Employees may remake themselves out of ambition (The CEO has a Lexus. I must lease one, too!), survival, or because of some primeval need to belong (I can’t be one of the boys unless I play golf!).

Managers, on the other hand, hire their own likeness for more predictable motives: comfort, fear of disparity, arrogance (Why, this person is just like me! I bet he’s more efficient and capable than anyone else!), or self-love (I’m such a great person time I wouldn’t mind spending twice the time with myself!).

The Road to the Executive Suite

Experts think the similarity between the clone and the cloned is ignorance about the real ingredient for success. Not knowing why Staff A is stuck with being an underling while Staff B went on to become junior partner, corporate newbies practice quack cures on themselves. They use Cross pencils, work out manically to become a size two, lug about Zippo lighters, or even get wife number two, just in case any of those things actually had something to do with propelling one to the executive suite.

Just how far-spread is this outbreak of two-legged copies in the office? Very. It’s more “out there” than you believe. In fact, this cubicle culture of cloning explains why all lawyers seem to look alike, why you find it difficult to tell one hairstylist from another, and why the wealthy always seem to gravitate towards the same leisure zones – the Hamptons, for example, or Europe for the summer.

Forex-autopilot Review Part 2: Is It Really Possible To Make $1,000,000 With The Forex-autopilot?

In Part I of the article I introduced our readers to the newly released Forex Autopilot software system. I am sure everyone will agree that the possibility of having a 100% automated software execute profitable trades for you while you’re sleeping, golfing, spending time with your family, taking care of other aspects of your business or enjoying life’s little precious moments seems very attractive.

But how far is this dream from reality? Can the Forex Autopilot electronic trading adviser really help you achieve it? Let’s do some calculations and find out!

WARNING: If even simple math gives you a headache you may find this article boring… hopefully the potential for making massive amounts of money without too much effort on your part will keep you focused! At the very least you could skip to the bottom and check the bottom line numbers.

In this analysis we will always try to “prepare for the worse”. What this means is that if for example our chances of success are between 75% and 80% we will use 75% (or even lower). Similarly if we are looking at a risky aspect of the Forex Autopilot electronic trading adviser we will take the highest probability of failure. This will allow us to project the behavior of the Forex Autopilot electronic trading adviser in the worst possible conditions and our real results when using the system should outperform these results.

Based on system performance results reported by various customers,
the Forex Autopilot trades placed between early this year and today have the following ratio of winner/loser/no-gain orders on average:

1. Forex-autopilot Profit / Loss Ratio:
W:94% / L:6% / N:0%

Instead of the average reported numbers, let us use these profit results, reported in the worst case of Forex-autopilot performance records I have seen:
W:76% / L:17% / N:7%

If we remove the No-Gain orders as insignificant (they don’t influence our bottom line), then the W/L distribution becomes:
W = 76 / (76+17) = 82%;
L = 17 / (76+17) = 18%;

W:82% / L:18% / N:0%

These are our worst possible percentages and they, of course, don’t look at all as good as the average numbers.

Let us see if it is still possible to make money with the Forex Autopilot electronic trading adviser under these circumstances?

2. Forex-autopilot Monthly Trade Frequency
According to the same data the software closes 1-2 trades every day. In other words the Forex Autopilot Electronic Trading Adviser completes about 45 transactions every month.

3. Forex-autopilot Average Pips per Trade (Win/Loss)
As can be concluded from the same data an average Profit trade is 23 pips whereas an average Loss trade is -13 pips. As per above “conservative” approach let us assume that in our case the average loss trade will actually be equal to the average profit trade.

Now let’s take a hypothetical $1000 account and connect the dots.

4. Forex-autopilot Monthly/Yearly Projections:
Following our decision for conservative approach we will not risk more than 3% of our account. This means that if we want to allow our trade to go at most 23 pips against us (as per above average) we will have no more than 0.1 lots in trade at any given time. Since the Forex Autopilot electronic trading adviser sometimes has 2-3 trades open at the same time we will reduce the number of lots to trade to 0.01, which is 10 times less.

As you can see we are really stretching the Forex-autopilot abilities but that is the only way to go if you want to get a realistic estimate of the system’s performance. As we all know – in real life something will always go wrong, so we better be prepared!

Ok, here’s the formula:

0.01 Lots x 23 pips = 0.01 x $100,000 x (23/10,000) = $2.30

This is the size of our “worst possible” trade (+$2.30 for loss trades, -$2.30 for winner trades)

We have 45 trades on average each month, with 76% being winners, 17% losers and 7% no-gain.

76% x 45 = 34 profit trades
17% x 45 = 8 loss trades
7% x 45 = 3 no-gain trades (0 balance)

As average trade in dollars is $2.30.
34 x $2.30 = $78.20 profits
8 x -$2.30 = -$13.80 losses
(the no-gain trades of course are not interesting…)

Total = $64.40

CONCLUSION
So your monthly profits, in the WORST POSSIBLE CASE should be around $64 or 6.4% (of $1000). Using the power of compounding, you can see that your yearly results will be $1000 * 1.064 ^ 12 (1.064 to the power of 12) = $1000 * 2.105 = $2105 per year.

$2000 may not seem too impressive but that’s only because you started with an initial balance of $1000!

Using only worst case scenario numbers and a very conservative trading strategy we have more than doubled our initial investment in 1 year!

Not bad.

Compare this result with an average market return of 11%-18% per year (and likely to be much worse in the coming years due to US heading for recession). This would generate you $180 of profits on your initial investment of $1000. Compare it with the measely 4%-5% interest if you leave your money in the bank.

Your cost to enter this opportunity? $800? 500? Nope! Not even four hundred bucks! The price of the forex autopilot is $399. If you happen to buy it during one of the days when they have a promotion (75%) it will be only $99!

Interested? Click the link above and check it out! What have you got to lose? As mentioned in Part I of the article – the Forex Autopilot electronic trading adviser comes with an 8-week money back guarantee which turns your purchase into a risk-free trial!

Employment In The Airline Industry – Rising Amount of Jobs for Airline Employees

Since 2001 hiring for major airlines has been in a slump. The public has been more reluctant to travel by air after the events of September 11, 2001, and a number of airlines have been forced to make deep cuts to stay competitive. Now the situation has changed for the better and major carriers are again trying to attract job applicants.

They are running into a problem, though: whereas in the past, airlines had little trouble attracting large numbers of candidates for available positions, this is no longer the case. Perhaps job seekers have started looking elsewhere for employment or have been discouraged by the idea that taking any aircraft career means they would have little, if any, job security if more cuts had to be made. Whatever the underlying cause, in some areas, airlines are finding it difficult to find a large pool of applicants to choose from.

Even with the “carrot” of free travel airlines offer to employees, they are still finding it hard to fill available positions. As a result, the airlines are using some interesting tactics to find qualified candidates.

Holding an open house has become a tactic used by the airlines. Rather than have prospective employees visit at their office, some airlines have decided to make the initial contact with candidates more low-key and fun by inviting them to attend a pool party, a picnic, or an old-fashioned ice cream social.

Many airlines have started to us community resources such as churches and community centers to aid in getting new hires. In some cities, the local employment office has been used as a place where job seekers can fill in application forms.

Since word of mouth is a great way to attract candidates for available positions, certain airlines are also offering to pay a bonus to a current employee who refers someone they know to the employer. Once the new hire has been with the company for six months, then the bonus is paid out.

Bonuses are not only being paid to those people referring new hires to the airlines, though. If an airline is having difficulty in finding workers, they have paid out signing bonuses to new employees directly. This strategy is part of making working for a large carrier more attractive to prospective employees.

Since airlines want to retain the new employees they have been hiring, they are also making a point of pointing out some aspects of working there that may be less than attractive. For example, a person hired into security screener employment will be expected to give their utmost attention to items brought into the airport and what is being put onto the airplanes. Any questionable items or activity will need to be dealt with immediately. Also, dealing with airline and airport customers can be a daunting task, but one that is important for safe travel. It is not hard to know what the duties of the security people are and how one should respond to issues.

The policy of letting new hires know exactly what their duties will be is a good idea. If the employer is going to invest time and money offering training to new employees, they will want to avoid hiring people who will quit after a short time because the position didn’t meet their expectations.

Customer service and ticketing position are readily available positions that may be good news to prospective candidates. Pilots and flight attendants are also in demand. It is not difficult to find an airline pilot career or flight attendant job searching online or in newspaper advertisements. While wages continue to lag behind those offered before 9-11, new employees will receive benefits, including the employer matching 3% of employee contributions to a 401(k) plan.

Make a Seasonal Alaska Fishing Job into a Fishing Career Lasting Year Round

The fishing industry in Alaska is booming. Everyone loves fish especially salmon. The summer months are mostly devoted to salmon, but the fishing industry is still going strong throughout the other seasons of the year. A summer worker, who wants to stay on, can still find work.

Although salmon fishing comes to an end at the end of October, may other fisheries are gearing up. Alaska fishing careers in onshore processing plants, offshore processing plants, and fishing boats are still in operation and need workers to bring in the other harvests. During the other three seasons of the year, fisherman harvest cod, Pollack, groundfish, halibut, and crab.

During these harvest, fish processing plants are busy with processing these fish coming in offshore. Regions 1 and 2 are big from August to mid-May for groundfish. Region 3 and 4 are big harvesting areas from January to mid-May. Cod can be processed in onshore plants or floating processors and factory trawlers or longliners. Most of the processing system is automated but workers are still needed to perform candling, de-boning, and dressing.

Candling is a method of looking for defects in the skinned fish by using bright lights. If any bones remain, workers remove them from the fillet. Before the fillets are packed and frozen, any bad parts are cut out and the fillet is made ready.

Pollock fish are filleted and used to create surimi. Fillets are created like described above but surimi requires a different process. Surimi is made from minced fish which is mixed with other substances to create a paste. Most surimi processing is done in Dutch Harbor, Kodiak, and on floating processors.

Some of the most dangerous fishing jobs are those working on crabbing vessels. If you have cable television then you can learn more about Alaskan crab fishing jobs on the popular show, Deadliest Catch. The areas where the crabs are harvested are pretty cold and wet. Some people can even lose their lives on a crabbing expedition. Region 4 is the biggest for crabbing from November through March.

The Alaskan Peninsula and the Aleutian Islands are part of Region 4. This area is sparsely populated. It is cold and windy a lot of the time. Processing and fishing jobs here will get you room and board because of the remote location. Most processors offer transportation from the lower forty-eight states to Alaska and back again once the contract has been fulfilled.

Anyone wanting to work on a factory trawler or crabbing vessel are often required to have previous deckhand experience. Working in one of the other regions during your summer employment in Alaska will provide valuable experience if you want to move to region 4 for the rest of the year. Crabbing vessels operate catcher/processors to do all of the work in one place.

Factory workers do the same job for other fisheries as they do for the salmon fisheries. Sorters are the first to work with the fish. They separate out fish that are not a part of the targeted fish for the line. The fish travels down the line from a filleting machine, through candling, extruding for surimi, roe extraction, and freezing.

Factory trawlers are where the work is at during the fall and winter seasons. Trawlers are the most lucrative during the Pollack A season. Unless you have experience, entry-level jobs like working in the factory, quality control, or working in the kitchen are where you will start.

Processors work their shifts and can get as many as twenty or more hours of overtime a week paid at time and a half. Room and board are free and they even do laundry for you. Before starting work, check with the employer to see if they provide the gear for the job. If not, you will have to purchase your own rain gear, long underwear, boots and jackets. Processors can earn up to $4,000 a month or more with raises.

Deckhands are very well paid for working on a factory trawler. They can make up to $9,000 a month but the work is hard. Deckhands haul in the fish nets and empty them. They also keep the deck clean and clear, mend fish nets, and maintain the rigging. They could be asked to help out in the factory or wheel watch.

By starting out in the factory, deckhands work their way up through a job called a “combie”. The combie works in the factory and takes on deckhand jobs if they need extra help. Any combie that is interested in being a deckhand full time should let the deck boss know this so they can be considered for the next position.

Effective Suggestions To Help You Find The Right Job

Years ago there was only one way to conduct a job search, and that was offline in paper publications. Now however, the Internet is one of the best places to find a jobs.

No longer must you go through the want ads cover to cover; instead, you can simply type in a keyword and search for exactly the type of job you want in the locale you desire. The Internet has opened a new world for people who could previously only find jobs in their local newspaper.

There are quite a few web sites on which you can search for jobs. Once there, you simply register your personal information, fill out the pertinent job-related fields, and off you go to begin your search.

These job sites normally ask basic questions such as your name, age, and type of career option you prefer. You can even upload your resume onto the site to help employers find you while at the same time you search for them.

Jobs in Nursing – High Pay for Nurse Anesthetists

Have you wondered exactly what a CRNA is? CRNA stands for Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist – the highest nursing position available. Are you interested in becoming a certified registered nurse anesthetist? Do you want to make a six-figure salary? Are you ready to work independently? Are you ready to take other people’s lives into your hands? Do enjoy being at the top of your profession? Did you know it can all be yours in only a short time period? If so, you might want to become a CRNA.

A CRNA is in charge of administering anesthesia to patients in order for their surgery to be pain free. RNs have a very important job that requires plenty of responsibility, but also delivers a big paycheck.

Becoming a nurse anesthetist isn’t easy. You have to work your way up the ladder first. To get to this point in your nursing career you need to have a 4 year degree in nursing or some related science, be a licensed registered nurse, and practice for 1 full year in a clinical setting. Then you must apply to nursing school, which is an additional 2 to 3 years of schooling. Here’s a quick tip: don’t rule out a online nursing degree from accredited programs. You will learn all about anatomy, physiology, pathophysiology, biochemistry, chemistry, physics, pharmacology, and much more. Upon completion you will have the equivalence of a maser’s degree. The education of nurse anesthetists in the United States is directed by the AANA.

Becoming a CRNA may sound like a lot of work, but you wouldn’t want to be unqualified when people’s lives are literally in your hands. It is a very competitive field to get into. Currently there are 28,000 CRNAs across the United States, and there is a high demand for more. CRNAs are cost effective and help keep the cost of health care down for the average Joe.

What exactly does a CRNA do? A nurse anesthetist takes care of a patient before, during, and after surgery. They administer anesthesia to ensure freedom of pain during surgery. Which as you can imagine is an incredibly important service. Nurse anesthetists work alongside podiatrists, dentists, anesthesiologists, surgeons, obstetricians and other professionals needing the services of anesthesia. You can work in both the public and the private sectors and will have plenty of opportunities.

Nurse anesthetists have held lucrative careers for over 100 years and will continue to do so as long as there is a need for anesthesia. Nurse anesthetists can work with doctors and anesthesiologists in teams and even are qualified to work alone under the supervision of a qualified doctor. For example, nurse anesthetists participate in over 80% of all anesthesia worldwide. They are the sole anesthetists in over 60% of all anesthesia worldwide. That is very impressive. And those numbers show the high level of responsibility required by a certified registered nurse anesthetist.

CRNAs break the mold of other nurses. In the overall nursing world, only 8% of all nurses are men, but in the nurse anesthetist world, 46% of all CRNAs are men. This is a surprising number. Another surprising fact about nurse anesthetists is their salary. An average salary for a registered nurse is approximately $50,000. But CRNAs averaged over $140,000 a year in 2006! That is an incredibly lucrative career, and it only takes a limited amount of time to reach that status. But remember, that type of money comes with huge amounts of responsibility and dedication. The good news is that other types of nurse careers also pay well and provide great job security, benefits, and rewards.

Being a CRNA is a very gratifying career. Everyday you will have hands-on personal interaction with patients. You will have huge responsibility, but you will be well trained and ready for the adventure. You will make a huge paycheck and be able to sleep easy at night, knowing that you have helped your community by lowering health care costs and more importantly helping people by easing their pain.

You Can Get A Job Yourself By Writing An Ebook For Research Studies Online

E-book writing is probably one of the easiest things to get started with internet marketing. Many people delay writing their own because they don’t know where to start; some useful hints are detailed below. There is no reason why at first you cannot hire other people to carry out some if not all the work for you until you feel confident enough to ‘go it alone’.

The same thing when you are deciding which research studies online to take, the first thing to do research. Research the topic for your e-book and write some articles and although this can be any subject, it is easier to write about something you are interested in that people are willing to buy the information you have. Similar to your business studies online, you have to find one which interests you the most and can give you the most advantage for your career, remember that you’d be investing a lot of time for it. A good method used to practice before you start is to write some articles on the topic of your book and then distribute them on the internet to promote the book you are writing; free publicity! If these articles are sent to article directories, within a short space of time you should have a very good idea how many people have shown an interest and can estimate how successful it will be.

Remember, when people decide to take online studies, be it a free online ged course or something like a bachelor social work degree online, they have to choose which offers the most effective courses in line with their current lifestyle, the same way that e-readers have to choose carefully which e-book is most effective for their needs. Considering the sheer number of available books in the internet, this should at least give you the edge of being read.

While you’re writing the articles you will need to develop your e-Book’s overall structure. If you are worried about the structure you should not go wrong of you follow the normal introduction section, body content and then a conclusion to the subject which might also have a helpful resources area as well. If you write a few more articles that complement the book you may find it will increase the overall perceived value.

Once each article is written, place it into the e-book so you will have a better idea of how long it will be. Because e-books are usually shorter than a printed version, no-one wants to read material that has been added that is not related so it is best to stay close to the topic of the book. As computer screens are notoriously awkward to read with comfortably, a shorter more concise book is appreciated.

Another tip that should be useful in ensuring your book will be read is tying up with some online courses such as bachelor of social work degree online especially if you have a specific area of expertise. The presence of e-books became a norm due to these courses, the same way that free online ged courses has somehow dominated online courses nowadays.

Most e-books provide bonus material so if you can find some include this as it will be welcomed. From your point of view this bonus information does not need to be anything more than some extra articles you did not use in the book or a short report you have written. Any extra material you supply will need to be worthwhile on its own and be related to your e-book subject.

Retail Employment – How to Find Seasonal Retail Work

The rush from Thanksgiving to Christmas is particularly brutal in the retail industry, and the fast pace keeps up for at least a week after Christmas day as people hurry in to return gifts that did not appeal to them for whatever reason. During this incredibly busy season more people are in the stores than at any other time of year, and managers are often looking for some extra labor to help them through the busy season. Customers become more demanding when they feel crowded or pressed for time, and the sheer volume of people needing help means that every check-out lane may need to be open and that all of the cashiers in a store’s roster may not be enough.

Keep in mind that after working for a company in a seasonal role, it may be easier to catch on later in a full-time capacity. After graduating college, for instance, you might decide to pursue retail management jobs or some other type of job.

A seasonal retail job can start well before Christmas but can only last a month or so. Employers are often constantly on the lookout for potential labor when the season commences, so finding a seasonal job toward the end of the season is still possible as long as there is ample time for training. Jobs in retail can be a great way to earn some extra money right before the holidays, and you will never have to feel like you are committing to something for any length of time, since the majority of seasonal workers are laid off at the end of a busy season when conditions return to normal.

Working a seasonal job can be a great way to fill your free time over the holidays or even summer. For example, you can dictate your start date as the first day after school ends, and work for just a couple of months or sometimes even less. This time allows you to make money that you can apply toward future schooling, Christmas gifts, and more, and working at a retail store often entitles you to an employee discount (although some stores only give you the discount after you have passed your three month probation period.)

If you are interested in finding a seasonal job, ask ahead of time at some of your favorite retail stores. Their management might already have an idea of how much seasonal work is needed, and if you put in your application as a seasonal worker toward the beginning of fall and ask to be kept on file for the Christmas rush, then you may have a leg up on others who do not think to apply before the need arrives. This early application gives employers time to interview and even train you before they become stressed over the season, and allows you to start working just as the rush picks up rather than having to jump in while the entire retail industry is moving at full steam.

Those people who like fast-paced environments will find the Christmas rush can provide this and provide a way to earn some extra money as well. There are many different kinds of people who benefit from working during the Christmas rush, but these people must all have a few things in common.

Keep in mind that seasonal doesn’t always mean around the holiday season. For example, a shop on the boardwalk at your favorite beach would get a season rush Memorial Day through Labor Day. The same is true for outlet retail locations – their seasonal rushes usually come in the summer. For a greenhouse, their seasonal rush may occur in the spring or fall. Bookstores in college towns may have a seasonal rush in the early fall. And so, you can be on the lookout for seasonal retail jobs no matter what time of year it may be.

Reading this article may have you thinking that there might be better forms of short-term jobs. You could be right, but seasonal retail jobs are easy to find and come with fine perks such as discounts on merchandise.

People who work seasonal jobs must enjoy people, or at least be able to fake it to provide pleasant service even when customers are not at their most pleasant. Working seasonal jobs means that you must be willing to work a short period before being laid off. If you are willing to do that, a seasonal job can be a great way to gain some work experience, spend your time, and earn some extra cash.

Whether to be Part of a Small College or State University

Your college education is one of the most expensive “products” you will ever purchase. You need to compare many different options, including the type of college, to be sure you get the most for your money.

No college is perfect for everyone, and there are probably only one or two colleges that are ideal for you. Your college experience will influence the rest of your life, so you need to select carefully but without procrastination.

College costs are a huge issue, but not as nasty as you may assume. The most expensive schools all offer significant scholarships for those in need, so any school can turn out to be relatively inexpensive to you or even free if you make the effort.

Don’t rule out any school without looking into their financial aid options first. And take the initiative to ask a college or university for more money if they don’t offer you enough to make it affordable.

There are several available college assessments that rank every university according to academics, student happiness, and a number of other factors. These lists are somewhat useful to determine the general learning and social atmosphere each school provides, but they are not always accurate or sufficiently detailed concerning what the school is actually like.

Take advantage of these lists to consider how future employers will likely perceive your educational achievements there, regardless of your actual experience as a student.

Ivy League schools “infuse” your educational records with the extra boost you may need to be recognized for different job opportunities after graduation, despite that such colleges are not always as great as their reputations might otherwise imply.

The learning atmosphere is extremely competitive, but you can get the high-status connections for post-college success. There are many less well known schools with more low-key learning styles and superior educations.

One crucial consideration when evaluating evaluating colleges is the location. Every college or university is part of its setting. Do you want to live in the city or the country? Do you want an isolated campus or one that is distributed throughout a town? Do you prefer proximity to a beach or the mountains? Or even an online college?

Remember, you’re only in the classroom itself for so long; the rest of the time you will live in the geographical setting. Try not to feel intimidated about leaving home to live on or near campus. It can be a great experience in independent living.

When planning for college, give a higher priority to how you want to learn rather than what you want to learn. You will have plenty of time to pick a major, but for the short term focus on your preferred teaching style and the type of educational environment in which you learn most effectively. You can go to a huge university with large lecture halls and many tests, or a small school with seminar discussions and more emphasis on written essays.

Bear in mind, you can always transfer if you decide after the fact that you don’t like the college you selected. Almost half of all college students attend more than one school before they graduate.
