Youth is a very romantic and adventurous part of your life when you don’t think much of the future, you want to be free, live free and fly free. You find your soul mate and all you care about is the world that you build together, cozy place to live, healthy kids and joyful holidays with your family. But, sometimes, daily routine covers all the beauty of your happy family life. Mortgages, credit cards bills, kid’s college funds, medical insurance - all these regular expenses hardly covered from your paychecks. You hope to get promotion but you colleague took it because he had a better degree. Looking for a second job, but even for a part time work you are not qualified enough, and the only way out is to take a low rate job for longer hours and see how life is passing through…This is pretty common situation for the Americans, who doesn’t have college degree. 65 percent of Hispanic parents and 47 percent of African American parents said that a college education is the first very important step for young person in building a successful carrier. But how many young people really go to college and what if you are already a parent your self and need to support your family?!I think at this point we should thank a great number of people bringing us the opportunity to own PC and use World Wide Web as the source of not only of entertainment but a great source of news, art, friends and education. Every year, more and more people choosing online education to get higher qualification of their current degree to get promotion or to find a new job with higher wage rate. Many parents choosing online schools for their children to get them more credits before college. Thousands young mothers got their college degree online while their maternity leave and came back to work with improved knowledge base and building successful carrier. Some companies with 100 and more employees offer tuition assistance as a part of their benefits package and to encourage the tendency to improve your skills.
Before you decide to apply for a School, College or University you need to raise this question on the family gathering and ask for support of your loved ones. Since you will become a student again there will be some decent changes around the house: kids might have more chores, you will need to rotate meal preparation with your wife/husband, and ask to be respectful and give you quite hours during evening to study, you will be a distance learning student but still you will have a lot of new topics to learn, develop and discuss on online forums and class chat rooms. There could be a light money shortage, but remember, investments in your education is the first of all investments in the future of your family.
The next step is to take a right field of study and choose an appropriate establishment. It’s very important to decide if you want to continue studying the area where you already work or you have discovered a new passion and want to develop absolutely new skills. But there is no advice in this matter, it all depends on person and nobody or nothing should influence on you, although there are a lot of online tests that helps you to analyze and identify where you could go to continue self development.
